FLORA meets the Zentrum für Baukultur & Werkbund RLP: Re:Green the Cities

How urban greenery affects our health and well-being

Urban greenery is far more than a merely aesthetic improvement to the cityscape – it makes our lives healthier and more pleasant and is a key element in the social quality of urban space. But what exactly does a green environment do for us as human beings?
How do a walk in the park, the view of greenery from a window or time spent among trees affect our physical and mental well-being?

As part of FLORA, the project of Hochschule Mainz and the Naturhistorisches Museum, we explore through the lens of several disciplines – landscape architecture, psychology and geography among them – what forces urban greenery sets in motion and what it can contribute to quality of life and health.

Welcome
