FLORA meets
Dr. Heidi Braunewell

Welcome to the lecture "Medicinal Plants between Tradition and Science". The lecture looks at the differences between herbal medicinal products, herbal medicine and homeopathy, and at how they are classified. The phytotherapist and lecturer Dr. Heidi Braunewell describes the various ways of demonstrating the effectiveness of plant-based remedies, and why this matters for those who use plant preparations. What is a medicinal product, and what is a food supplement? How can you tell them apart from the packaging, and why is that important? Are herbal medicinal products only available in pharmacies? In this lecture you will learn a great deal about using plant-based remedies and about buying them wisely.

In the workshop area of the Naturhistorisches Museum.

Please note: this event also forms part of the "Tag der Arzneipflanze" (Medicinal Plant Day), an initiative of the Gesellschaft für Phytotherapie e.V. (GPT) to promote knowledge of medicinal plants. https://tag-der-arzneipflanze.de
